These street entertainers from Argentina met My Travel Teddy in Quito, Ecuador.
This very attractive marine iguana from the Galapagos came a little closer to see My Travel Teddy.

It may not be the way everyone would like to spend their holidays, but this Christmas vacation I’ve devoted day after day to building My Travel Teddy. In addition to the necessary stuff like setting up the hosting, arranging for an automated form to be created, adding the Bulletin Board and Blog and stuff like that, I find the figure of the teddy bear is so captivating that I’ve spent hours working on the image on the main page. I began with images I took of the pyramid of Ghiza in 2004 and a picture of Central Park in 2007. I was able to craft a transition with New York on the left and Egypt on the right to signify the vast community that I hope My Travel Teddy to reach. I added a bear to the middle and was done – or so I thought. Next, I added a shadow to make it appear the bear was actually sitting there. Then I figured perhaps a reflection in the water would be a nice touch, so I inverted the image and used the clone tool to make a reflection. That was two days ago. Since then, I’ve redone the image 6 times, reworking the reflection each time, then finally used a motion blur filter on the reflection to make it look like water.
I mention all this in the hope that others will find My Travel Teddy to be a likely subject for even more creative work.
There’s something very appealing about working with My Travel Teddy images.
This bear wasn’t really on a path in the woods; in fact, it was on a pillow in my living room. I used Gimp to add shadows. For example, the shadow by the ear was added using a Levels function. Then I inserted the bear into an image I’d taken of the flood plain behind my house. This particular bear is only about 6 inches tall but appears much larger in this picture.
One day our class made little bears out of clay.
Clay BearThe next day, it came to life! So I told my parents and they said that I was dreaming. I told my friend Razan and the same thing happened to her. And Razan said her parents said that she was day dreaming, too. So here Razan and I had a problem that needed to be fixed. So we tied the bears to a tree but they broke the chain. Next, we tried to put them in a cage but they ripped the lock right off of it. We also tried to give the bears to a zoo but they broke out and came back to our house. The bears are so very strong! So strong that they can break everything.
But then we thought that we would just go to bed but then we saw a shooting star. We wished that the bears would turn back to clay. The next morning we saw them and they turned back to clay.

Evan and Joshua have a travel teddy family.
We had a dad named Eddy who works as a blacksmith. He comes back to the cave at 7 o’clock. The mom’s name is Betty and she takes care of Teddy the youngest kid while the other kids go to school. The kids are named Teddy, Freddy, Reddy, Peddy and Neddy. Also the kids have a cousin named Yeddy. He is a news paper deliverer.Teddy wants to be a waiter when he grows up. Reddy is a wizard in training. Neddy is a photographer and Freddy wants to be a lumberjack. Their uncle is named Jetty and he is an athlete. The aunt is named Heddy and she is a dentist. The kid’s grandpa is a retired doctor and their grandma is a retired gardener. Evan and Joshua made stuffed animals named Edd and Ted out of clay for the kids. The stuffed animals are light brown with puffy tails and they have yellow ears. That is Eddy and Betty’s family.

After school while I was walking and talking with Jurabek, I was trying to think of a name for my travel teddy. I couldn’t because Jurabek was telling me hilarious jokes. When I got home I told my mom that I’m going to homework club at unit 135. At homework club I thought of a name for my travel teddy and a type of character. The name was Magi and the character was a wizard. After that, I started to colour Magi. When we got home we ate supper. While me and Magi were eating, we were playing Nintendo DS Lite. We were playing the game Sonic Rush. After dinner we watched Monsters Inc. After, Me and Magi read part of a book called Christmas Catastrophe by Geronimo Stilton and we slept at 10:00.

Me and Magi woke up at 6:55 in the morning. We played Sonic Rush until we finished our breakfast. We went upstairs and watched t.v. At 12:00 we asked to go outside. My mom said we were allowed in the back yard. We asked if we could ride our bikes. My mom said we could only ride our bikes around the block. After a while later, I saw Jurabek and asked if he could ride his bike. He said, “Yes.” So I told him I was only allowed around the block. Jurabek told me someone stole his bike. I didn’t believe him because Jurabek likes to play practical jokes on me. When Jurabek got out his bike he thought I’d laugh at him because his bike was purple and red. At 2:15 my parents called us to go inside so we could go to Sherwood Public Library. At Sherwood Public Library, me and Magi were mostly playing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on the computer. When we got home we had dinner and then went to a mask called Al Mahdi. While we were waiting, we watched people getting ready to annouce a speech. One person’s speech lasted one hour and ten minutes. My favourite part was when we got home. When we did get home it was 11:20. Me and Magi read a book until 12:35. Then we slept at 12:40.

Me and Magi woke up at 9:21 in the morning. We went down to eat our breakfast. We played Sonic Rush until we asked my mom if we could go outside. She said, “Only in the back yard.” We played in the back yard until we got bored. The we went inside and ate lunch. After lunch we watched a movie. There was nothing to do so we went in the basement and played with our two pet bunnies. The last thing we could think of was to ride out bikes. We asked to ride our bikes. Our mom said yes and our dad said yes.When we got tired we went inside and ate our dinners. After that we watched another movie and went to sleep.

When we got up the next morning me and Magi said good morning to each other and went downstairs to eat our breakfast. After breakfast, we went upstairs and watched a movie until lunch time. After that our parents took us to Terry Fox runway. We went walking until we saw a park. When we saw the park, we started running to the swings. When we got bored we went walking while we were hitting a stick on a piece of metal. We were walking to the car. When we got to the car we drove home and then we rode our bikes. We were so tired that we went inside at 5:00 and played Sonic Rush until dinner time. After dinner, we went to sleep.

We woke up at 9:21 in the morning. Me and Magi went downstair and my mom asked me what I wanted for breakfast. I said “I want cereal and milk please.” After our breakfast, my two little brothers went to homework club to make playdough that was green. When they came back we ate lunch for 20 minutes. It tooke me 5 minutes to put on my shoes. My mom said that I could go and do art. When I went, I saw Raven. I waved my hands and yelled at Raven. When Raven saw my signal, he ran toward me and said hi. I said hi back to him. Then I spotted William. After a little bit, William saw two racoons. Then a bunch of kids started to surround the tree to see the racoons. After that, William knocked on the door at homework club and asked if Stephanie could call animal control and she said, “Yes after I finish helping Paula clean up.” Then me and Raven were talking about how to knock the racoons off of the tree. Raven’s idea was to get a gun and shoot them down. My idea was to get a rock and hit it at them and they would climb down the tree and go chasing you until someone catches them. Then Stephanie opened the door to homework club and said, “Get in a straight line.” Then everybody who wanted to do art got in a straight line. I couldn’t believe my eyes, a bunch of boys were doing art. When we got inside I sat beside Raven and asked what he was drawing. First he said Crazyland. After a bunch of lines, Raven flipped over his piece of paper. Then Stephanie came and asked Raven what he was drawing and Raven said Image land. Then I was thinking what to use, oil pastels or pencil crayons. I chose oil pastels because I used oil pastels lots of times at my old school. I drew an owl that was yellow and orange. At 2:30PM, me and my family went to Sherwood Forest Park. We took a break at some big rocks near the river. I saw a beaver on a walkway we were walking on. When we returned I went to homework club to finish my owl picture. When I did finish my owl picture lots of people said it was great, even people older than me. One person asked who drew it and Paula said it was me. Magi was very proud of me. When I had finished, I went home and showed it to my parents. They both liked it. Yasmin and Paula each took a picture of me and my picture. After that I went home and asked my parents if I could ride my bike and they said until dinner. When I came in I was so tired I wanted to skip dinner and go to bed early, but I ate my dinner. Then we watched a movie and went to sleep.
